Scope creep
Iseng-iseng ikut quiz PMP gratisan.. ada pertanyaan sbb:
In order to prevent or reduce the possibility of experiencing unplanned scope changes (sometime known as scope creep) during project execution, project manager should utilize:
a: initiation
b: scope verification
c: scope defining
d: scope planning
Aku pilih b: scope verification, ternyata salah sodara-sodara.. the correct answer is D
Penjelasannya:
A – Initiation authorizes the project or phase by a Project Charter, and as it does authorize, it defines the product description, constraints and assumptions. Project Charter brings major deliverables, and CAN bring the project scope on major levels, but NOT USUALLY.
B- Scope Verification is intended to formalize the scope DONE. So, it doesn’t reduce scope creep. It reduces scope “uncorrectness”.
C- Scope Definition brings to WBS. Ok, it can help to prevent scope creep if you do a good job on the scope definition. But it is not enough.
D- Scope Plannind is the best answer, because here you state the project scope, and (important) you defines the rules to scope management in Scope Management Plan.
A Scope Statement with specific, accurate and realistic deliverables, supported by clear and unambiguous rules in a Scope Management Plan can prevent scope creeping. And these are done in Scope Planning.
So, you best answer D. !!
